Located in the Old Town, Sé Cathedral is one of the most important religious places in Porto. This Christian building is an architectural heritage and a mixture between Romanesque Gothic and Baroque styles. Additionally, numerous things distinguish Sé Cathedral. Another important architectural site to visit and one of the best things to do in Porto is discovering Da Bolsa Palacio. Built during the 19th century, this Portuguese palace is a gigantic monument housing ceremonial rooms. I must admit that Da Bolsa's exterior seems a little bit austere, however, its interior design is a true delight for your eyes. The Das Nações courtyard and the Moorish Hall are two great examples of its beauty.

4. Take a Rabelo cruise on the Douro River.

If you want to explore Porto in an original way, I suggest you take a Rabelo cruise on the capital's river. Rabelo is a boat that was used formerly to transport wine barrels across the city. By taking a cruise on the Douro river, you'll see numerous beautiful bridges including Dom-Luís I. It is a two-level metal bridge designed by one of Gustave Eiffel's disciples. You'll also pass by Queen Maria Pia. A bridge in Porto designed by none other than Gustave Eiffel himself. Additionally, taking a Rabelo cruise gives you the opportunity to admire panoramic views of Porto. Especially the colorful facades of the quays of Ribeira district and the banks of Vila Nova de Gaia.

5. Admire the Dos Clerigos Tower.

Once considered Portugal's tallest building, Dos Clerigos offers magnificent and mesmerizing views of Porto. The tower was built by Nicolau Nasoni, a baroque architect. At his request, Nasoni was buried in a small chapel inside the tower. Constructed in granite, the Dos Clerigos Tower is part of the church holding the same name.
